The simple answere is, there is no standard.

Libbey Glass, one of the largest US manufacturers of shotglasses has over 30 types of shotglasses. They have about 8 different glasses that are the "standard" size and shape, and they hold from 7/8 ounce to 2 ounces, depending on how thick the glass at the base and the sides are.

The most common glasses in the US are either the 1 1/2 ounce or 2 ounce versions.

In europe, the most common size holds 2cl which is about 2/3 ounce.

Mark : How big is a standard shot glass?
: Is there even a standard size?
: Thanks in advance.
