FYI,
Etching is done by a chemical process, usually acid
Cutting is a mechanical process, done with a grinding wheel
I call the pattern that you describe "dots and leaves"
They were made by a number of companies, mostly in Japan and Korea -- the sticker might mean they were made in the US, but that might just be the name of the importer.
I know the shape you describe -- I don't have a name for it -- I want to get pictures of some of the more exotic shapes -- one of these days...
Since you have five, they probably came from a box of six (I have also seen boxes of four, but six is more common) The boxes usually had a plaid top, and they originally sold for under $5.00. They were often labeled as whiskey glasses.
Today, they are worth a little less than average -- less than $3.00 each because they are too small -- some people do not consider them shotglasses.

: I have a set of five?? colored glass shot glasses(smoke, blue, rose, green, and amber) They look to be slightly barrel shaped with a base/foot?? They have three vertical, etched dots, with a flower on a long stem wrapped around the glass. They have a silver sticker on the bottom with the name, that i make out to be, National Potterie Co., Cleveland Oh. There is another word on the label but i cannot make it out. I am harboring a guess that they may be approximately 25 years old since i acquired them from my grandfather about 6 years ago.
: If you have any info on these it would be greatly appreciated. I didn't think a site like this would have exisited, it is awesome. I have seen a few items of my collection here. Although my collection is not as great as yours(130 or so) I value it very much and it grows every time i travel.
: thanks again for your help.
