This is not a "rediculous" question...
A shot is not an "official" unit of measurement. Depending on who you ask, you will get different answers, but most people think of a shot as being between an ounce and an ounce and a half.
But I have a question for the people who say that a shot is more than an ounce: Why is a Double shot only two ounces?
A company such as Libbey glass makes shots in many different sizes and shapes:

I think of a shot as being an ounce -- most shotglasses hold more than an ounce so you don't spill your drink
: Probably a ridiculous question but I can't get a final word. Is a shot a single ounce, or is it not an actual unit of measurement? Thx!
